Explore local and national history, delve into art, and experience nature, all at Provan Hall.
Whether you have a class of Early Years time travellers, older children learning about the way we lived in the past or a class of green fingered pupils, we have something for all primary school levels, as well as hosting youth and college groups.
We also welcome a wide variety of adult and family community organisations for workshops, tours and sessions throughout the year.

Sessions developed to complement the curriculum, expand knowledge and deepen understanding
Book a workshop to get hands on with history and be creative with one of our experienced staff members or take your class around Provan Hall with our self led guide full of activities (see PDF link below). All our workshops and resources are designed in accordance with the Curriculum for Excellence.
Workshops are £45 per class (or FREE for schools in the North East Glasgow City ward); self-led sessions are free. Workshops are available Wed-Fri, at 10:30 and 13:00, with sessions lasting approx. 90 minutes.
TO BOOK a workshop or let us know you plan on visiting, please email education@provanhall.org and include class size, primary level, specify workshop/self led, any behavioural/medical conditions you'd like us to know about and if you require any of the below facilities.
Facilities: Coach parking, toilets (including disabled access toilet), quiet space, sensory packs, workshop room, lunch space. Please request use of the lunch space at time of booking.
Lord and Lady of the Manor

Learn all about the medieval people of Provan Hall, and how they lived. Involves dress up, museum object handling and teamwork activities. Discuss how food and medicine have changed from the medieval times to now, and engage in bartering activities.
Witches in Scotland
P3-4 & P5-7, LIT 2-02a, EXA 2-12a, SOC 2-04a, MNU 2-01a/ MNU 2-03a/ MNU 2-09a
Learn about the history of the Scottish Witch Trials! We will discuss how rumours and news spread in the late medieval period, roleplay a witch trial and design a mythical creature as we learn about how Scottish folklore affected beliefs during the witch trials.
Tiny Time Travellers
Early years EXA 0-12a, LIT 0-01c, SOC 2-04a
Travel back in time with us at Glasgow’s oldest house, Discover what people wore, what people ate and how people lived in the past through a sensory journey of stories, dress up and play.
Community group visits and workshops
We offer free community group workshops including reminiscence sessions, themed creative activities and bespoke sessions for groups with additional access needs. From one-off visits to special tours, long-term partnerships to new initiatives, we want community groups to feel invested in the future of Provan Hall.
